Structured teaching

Clear, structured teaching built around your child. Not someone answering random questions and hoping it sticks. Every lesson is structured, diagnostic and built around exactly where your child is. I find where they are stuck, teach to that point and repeat topics until they land firmly.

I teach solid, consistent methods that work on any version of a problem, not quick tricks. I struggled with maths myself, so no child is made to feel behind. I teach children to show their working so they earn every mark. This is patient, kind and effective support for every student.

What makes my lessons different

🔍

Every lesson is diagnostic

I find where your child is stuck, teach to that point and repeat topics until they land. We do not rush on just to tick a box.

🛡️

Reliable methods, not quick tricks

I teach solid, consistent methods that work on any version of a problem, so your child is ready for whatever comes up in the exam.

🤝

Patient and genuinely kind

Your child can ask questions, make mistakes and try again without embarrassment. I explain concepts step by step, adapt my approach when something does not click and celebrate progress, helping them feel more confident tackling maths independently.

✍️

Marks for method, not just answers

Clear working can help students earn available method marks, even when the final answer is incorrect.

What a lesson looks like

A structured approach that ensures every minute counts toward your child's confidence.

1

Quick check in

We start with a short recall of last week so I can see what has stuck and what needs another look.

2

Main lesson

I teach one clear idea at a time, using examples that match your child's level and exam board.

3

Practice

They work through questions on the shared whiteboard while I watch how they think and where they get stuck.

4

Instant feedback

We correct, tidy up methods and note what to revisit next time so every lesson builds on the last.

How online lessons actually work

Interactive and hands on, never a child sitting watching a screen. This is teaching, not a lecture.

🎥

Live on Zoom

Face to face, in real time. Your child can ask anything, exactly as they would in the same room.

🎨

A shared whiteboard

We both write and work on a digital whiteboard, so your child is always doing the maths, not just watching it.

📝

Homework and reports

Homework keeps the learning going between lessons, and a short progress report reaches you every week.
